Munnar

Munnar is a real beautiful place. Its relatively more beautiful than any other hill stations I have been to. Or might be I visited the place in the right time. Monsoon such a beautiful thing. The trip to Munnar has lot of falls in the mountains. Beautiful scenery all around the place on the way to Munnar.

We started around 12 in night from Bangalore. To enjoy the sunrise we stopped along the road.

The Tamil Nadu and Kerala border is filled with multiple check posts and the cops there shamelessly ask for bribe. There was a small stream running close to the check post and we got down there to take bath, just to be stopped by the police. We were fined Rs 225 because apparently we tried to get into restricted area. After pleading with them for half an hour they gave us a bill. There was a check mark against trekking in the bill. Apparently according to the police getting down the stream to take bath is known as trekking. Shame on you guys.

First day, we trekked into a tea estate. We had a camp site with water and electricity and tents. The next day we took a jeep ride to another camp site and started the trek to Chukkan mudi.
