Wayanad

Yet another road trip started at the very last moment, without any plans. Friday night 9o clock, still in office working. I start calling my friends for a trip. One agrees, another need a bit of convincing and then we start at 12. The plan is to checkout Wayanad this time.

This is how the morning looked like

Took a break to witness the sunrise

On the way to Irupu falls
On the way to Munnar, we decided to take a stop at Irupu falls to refresh our energies. We reached there pretty early. We had to wait for sometime to be allowed in. We took bath in the falls and we continued on our way to Wayand. This whole trip we did one thing right. We tried the local cuisine all the time. We tried Kappa with fish curry for breakfast and we continued to Kuruva Isand. On the way, we were stopped by the police to check for alcohol. Bunch of guys in a car and everyone assume you drink.
Bamboo raft to the Kuruva Island
After kuruva Island, we tried visiting the Edakal caves, but we wouldn't because it was late and they had closed the entry. The next day our plan was to hit Chembra Peak. We had bought supplies for the trek and we had a good nights sleep.

But we were unlucky. We learned that the trekking is closed due to some fire accident a month ago, and will open only after a month. So to fill in the time, we checkout out the Banasura Dam.
